Oh, those judges! What kinds of off-the-wall things will they ask you about?
Here's how you can prepare for the unexpected!
First,
review your essay, and think about why you wrote it. You may be asked directly about your inspiration and
thoughts.
You'll
likely be asked about the schools you're considering. Be ready to talk about why you want to attend any school,
and what your financial resources are.
You
may be asked whether you've lived away from home before, and whether you might
need a part-time job to help with expenses.
Here's
what they're after: the judges need to know you've done some serious thinking
about school, finances, and how you want to craft the first steps into
your career.
Make
sure you have at least one or two questions you can ask the interviewers ("how would you rate experience
versus classroom?" "how important do you think it is to travel?"
"does which school I attend matter more than my skills?")
Again,
before you leave, say thank you to the interviewers. (“Thanks for talking with me. I appreciate the opportunity to be here.”)
With
a calm, collected presentation, you’ll make the best impression. And you can walk out of the interview
being positive you’ve done your best.
Coming next - who's judging?
